A trip to the Smoky Mountains isn’t complete until you have taken time to connect with locally owned and operated businesses in the area. Ogle Brothers General Store is one of the newest spots that you’re going to want to check out this year if you’ve picked the hills of East Tennessee as your vacation destination. The owners have roots that run as deep into the Smokies as the tallest tulip poplar tree in Appalachia. And, because of the family’s history and desire to carry on the legacy of their family and the culture of the Smoky Mountains, you’ll find all things Smokies at Ogle Brothers General Store and an experience that is far greater than just shopping.

Our hotel, Bearskin Lodge on the River is located in downtown Gatlinburg. However, Ogle Brothers General Store is in Sevierville, across from Tanger Outlets. It’s a great spot to visit if you’re shopping at the outlets, dining at Five Oaks Farm Kitchen, visiting the many attractions in the area, exploring Dolly’s hometown, or even if you’re just passing by on your way into town or as your heading back home. It’s the perfect spot for an afternoon of wandering or a pit stop.

A trip to Ogle Brothers General Store is far more than a shopping experience. Time at the store is more like a visit to your Granny’s house. You’ll find rocking chairs to relax in with views of the Great Smoky Mountains as well as giant porch swings that add even more comfort to your time on the Five Oaks property. Inside the store you’ll find an onsite potter creating beautiful and authentic Appalachian pottery, free samples of their culinary goodies, fresh baked cookies, old fashioned soda pops, and more. As you browse the store you’ll come across everything from old timey toys to high-quality brands of clothing and outdoor gear, Smokies-themed candles, home decor, and a variety of souvenirs. Connected to the general store is Cruze Farm Dairy that serves up the best ice cream in east Tennessee daily. If you’re stopping in on a chilly day, try a cup of their delicious peppermint hot chocolate. Kick back, relax, enjoy some fellowship time, and make yourself at home!
