So whether you’ve been to this mountaintop attraction before, or are thinking about visiting for the first time, here’s everything you need to know about Gatlinburg SkyPark:

1. The Original Chairlift in Gatlinburg

Since 1954, taking a ride on the Gatlinburg SkyLift has become a tradition; in fact, it’s the longest-running attraction in the area! This incredible chairlift in the Smoky Mountains takes about 10 minutes and travels around 500 feet up to the top of Crockett Mountain where you can admire the views 1,800 feet above sea level! Along the way, you’ll get to see breathtaking views of the mountain scenery and downtown Gatlinburg, making it a “must-do” for anyone visiting the Smokies.

2. Multiple Viewing Decks, Restaurants & Seating Areas

The SkyDeck and SkyCenter include an expansive viewing deck featuring a spectacular restaurant and bar, a gift shop, and seating areas where you can take in the sweeping mountain vistas! With a tiered waterfall, inviting firepits, and plenty of outdoor seating, Gatlinburg SkyPark is the ideal place to kick back and relax. Don’t forget to take some pictures with the amazing scenery as your backdrop! Plus, the new Clayton’s Landing expansion is now open, offering visitors another incredible viewing deck and seating area, as well as a new place to eat, Smoky Mountain Smash.

3. Home to the Longest Suspension Bridge in North America

The Gatlinburg SkyBridge stretches nearly 700 feet across a deep valley, longer than 2 football fields, and provides unparalleled panoramic views of the Great Smoky Mountains. At its midpoint, you’ll find glass-floor panels that allow you to look down. It’s sure to be an experience that you’ll remember forever!

4. SkyTrails: Family-Friendly Hikes With Incredible Views

Another unique thing to do at this Smoky Mountain attraction is take a hike along the SkyTrail. Families of all ages can enjoy these easy walking paths, and the best part is– you can bring your dog along! With around 1.5 miles of hiking trails, you can choose a quick walk or take your time and spend longer taking in the fresh mountain air. One trail actually leads you down the mountain back to downtown Gatlinburg, so it’s a great alternative if you don’t want to ride the chairlift back down.

5. Where to Park & Ways to Save
