Thinking about booking a winter getaway to the Smokies? We couldn’t think of a better idea, so let us tell you about why our Gatlinburg hotel is the perfect place to stay this winter!
Peaceful & Relaxing
Our cozy amenities are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the perks of our hotel in Gatlinburg. Not only are there Keurig coffee makers, mini-refrigerators, microwaves, hardwood flooring, custom hickory furniture, and accessible walk-in showers in every room but also the most comfortable mattresses, pillows, and beddings you’ve ever experienced at a Smoky Mountain hotel. Plus, we’re a top choice due to our free parking, walkable location, rooms with balconies and fireplaces, outdoor firepit patio and relaxing seating area, and so much more!
Special Events
Smoky Mountain Winterfest isn’t just for the month of December; it extends all the way into February, so Gatlinburg’s Winter Magic light displays stay up for all to enjoy! And the best part is, our hotel is the ideal proximity to the main street, so you can stroll along the Riverwalk or ride the Gatlinburg trolley to take in the sights for free.
Whether you’re in town for the holidays, ring in the New Year watching the ball drop from the Gatlinburg Space Needle, visit in January, or enjoy a romantic getaway in February for Valentine’s Day, there’s always something going on in Gatlinburg and the Smoky Mountains. Check out our Gatlinburg events calendar to find out what’s going on this winter!
Less Crowded
One of the best things about staying at our Gatlinburg hotel this winter is that it’s much quieter and less busy than other times of the year. There may still be a line for the Pancake Pantry on the weekends, but you’ll find restaurant wait times and attraction crowds to be much less. In addition, popular trails and areas of Great Smoky Mountain National Park get less traffic during the “off-season”, so the winter is a great time to explore. Some of the best winter hiking trails include Abrams Falls and Porters Creek, which are considered easy to moderate, and if you’re up for a challenge, the trail to the Mount Cammerer Fire Tower offers incredible panoramic views at the top! Don’t want to hike? Take a beautiful winter scenic drive instead– the Cades Cove Scenic Loop is one of several roads that are open year-round, but it’s always a good idea to check for seasonal road closures before you head out!
The Chance To See Snow
We couldn’t neglect to mention the opportunity to enjoy freshly fallen snow while vacationing in Gatlinburg during the winter! January and February are typically the best times to see snow in Gatlinburg, and the mountaintops are often capped with beautiful white snow at the very least, so even if it doesn’t snow during your stay, you’ll still be able to enjoy the snow-capped peaks from your hotel room balcony.
